ArtPrize exists to reboot the conversation between artists and audiences. By creating a “critical mass” of people and placing them in physical proximity with each other, ArtPrize helps create harmony and tension among participants and between disciplines. In 2012, ArtPrize drew over 400,000 people and over 1,500 artists to the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to experience the competition’s 4th year. As a group, we’ll experience, scrutinize, and explore this environment of art and artful expression through a communal way of observation and reflection.
